FAQ:
- Why did I arrive at the correct location but my attendance was not successfully recorded?
There are several cases related to unsuccessful attendance marking based on location:
The user's device has not granted GPS permission to Tanca.
The GPS positioning of the phone is unstable and needs to be restarted, or the user needs to check Google Maps again.
Updates of Android or iOS versions may affect the GPS function.
There may be conflicts between the device and the Tanca application. In this case, the user should report the issue on the application for Tanca to investigate.
- Why does my phone show "The app is using your location" message?
In cases where the Administrator sets up the Location Tracking feature for shifts, the application will request permission from the user (employee). When the user agrees, the application will obtain real-time location and notify the user on the phone.
- What happens if I forget to clock out?
There are 2 scenarios. First, if you forget to clock out, the next day your phone will still show the "Clock Out" button. Second, if your company uses the Automatic Clock Out feature for the next day, then the next day the system will show the "Clock In" button.
- Why can't I clock in even though I am connected to the correct Wi-Fi?
Some Wi-Fi networks change their BSSID (Basic Service Set Identifier) after a period of time. Therefore, even if you connect to the Wi-Fi with the correct name, the changed BSSID may prevent you from clocking in. In this case, you should report to your manager to update the new BSSID.
- How do I know when the attendance radius is needed?
Some phones may have a discrepancy between the GPS location and the map by several tens of meters (due to cached location or misconfigured settings), so you may be at the attendance location but still unable to clock in (you can set the radius in the location settings, the recommended radius is between 500-1000m). The Tanca application uses the GPS coordinates provided by the device (phone). In some cases, the phone may not have updated the location yet, so the location recorded by Tanca may deviate from your actual location. In this case, please follow the steps below to update your current location:
Open the default map application on your phone (Google Maps, Apple Maps), check your current location displayed on the map, and tap the "My Location" button on the map.
- Can the system detect the location on higher floors within the allowed radius?
No, the Tanca application cannot detect locations on higher floors. To authenticate the location on higher floors, you should enable the feature of providing image + GPS.
- Does the application require facial recognition for attendance?
Some companies may require facial recognition for attendance, but it depends on the settings and requirements of each individual company.
